Clanfair Eclipse

(Bristol Encore x Bristol Safire)

January 10, 2012

And if you are wondering about disposition, well take a look at Eclipse here.

Cheyenne's Riding Lesson

Eclipse has the type, bone and movement typical of a traditional Section B Welsh Pony.
Eclipse is very athletic and free-jumps 3' easily. His movement is not a daisycutter nor is it high stepping,
his movement is Welsh movement with that breathtaking "airs above ground" suspension. Eclipse's outstanding shoulder gives him the ability to extend and lift his frame with ease while his strong hind end engages to push him along. This is the movement that the Welsh "of old" are noted for.
Eclipse's whole body engages in movement, his movement is not the pull along front end movement of
many Welsh seen today. Though Eclipse is only 13.1h, his bone and body are capable of carrying larger loads easily.
As you can see in the pictures above he is a gentleman.

Eclipse's grandsire is Supreme Champion RosMel's Black Magic, 2007 USEF Leading Pony Hunter Sire #111, who was sired by the 1998 Legion of Merit Sire GlanNant Tango. This line is known for their athleticism and for their ability to throw size. Throughout his pedigree is Champion after Champion with Eclipse being a Champion himself. He is a pre-potent stallion with ability to pass on the longevity, stamina and movement necessary for long-term performance champions.
Eclipse gives elegance in carriage and movement, along with type and bone in the youngstock he is producing.

GlanNant Tango was born April 26, 1966 at GlanNant Farm, Ithaca, New York. Big, bold, and beautiful, he was loaded with the performance genes of his illustrious ancestors and his long and prolific career at stud has withstood the test of time. Tango's foals have exhibited dense bone, large size, good attitude, wonderful body, extreme movement and trainable nature.  Sired by top performance stallion, *Cusop Sheriff, and out of black Duntulm's Two Step, herself a daughter of *Coed Coch Ballog, Tango carries a good percentage of Criban Victor blood, who was 5 times National Champion in Wales.
In the United States, the influence of Criban Victor can be felt even more. Out of the  imported founding fathers of Section B breeding in the United States, Coed Coch Ballog and Coed Coch Blaen Lleuad, are Criban Victor sons. Another influential imported sire of Section B breeding, Cusop Sheriff, is a great-grandson of Criban Victor.
